SC/APC Field-Installable Connector

Field-installable SC/APC connector that terminates drop cable at the subscriber's premises in about two minutes — no epoxy, no polishing. A factory pre-polished ferrule and internal mechanical splice deliver APC-grade reflectance at the doorstep. Optical connectors are precision mechanical interfaces that align two fiber cores — each around nine microns wide — accurately enough for light to cross the joint with minimal loss. Ferrule quality, end-face geometry and adapter alignment decide how much of the optical budget every mating consumes.
